Work in progress

  1. I like how this is coming along. The image is humorous and sad to me. The spaceship could be considered a symbol of discovery, exploration, and progress, yet it has been covered with advertisements, its purpose altered. It reminds me that almost every aspect of our environment is littered with advertisement in a contemporary consumer society, even the sky above our heads.

  2. i really like the idea that you are going with. the first thing that comes to mind for me is NASCAR because the sponsor pay so much money for small ads on the cars its crazy. then to apply that to a space shuttle where no one is probably ever going to see them it seems ironic. very cool so far. I really like the guy who is painting google on the side...

  3. This is great; it shows how the concentration on issues or programs that are of great importance are waned by advertisements that lack any beneficial cause. Your work seems to be done well, and I'm excited to see the final project.

  4. i like the idea of you putting ads on a space shuttle. it seems like ads are everywhere else, it would only seem fitting that they would be there too. who knows, maybe this is something that we will see in the future

  5. I like the angle of this picture and the ads looks nicely placed. I believe you are conveying the idea that ads with eventually get to areas we didn't think they would...they would reach new heights! It has a very surreal feel. I get this feeling because the image is nice and crisp and the ads are organized. Its not dark so I get no ill feelings. I like where he put the images and the size of the ads are nice and large to get the point across right away like ads are supposed to. My eye is drawn right to the Virgin ad first and then follows to the rest I like that flow. I really like this! Awesome!

  6. I meant to also say it has a serious yet playful feel because the message you are trying to get across and the organized placement of the ads...:)

  7. The idea of advertisement on space shuttles is pretty funny, especially since ads have never been placed there before. Another humorous point is that the shuttles are typically covered by mass media only during times of launch and reentry, so the ads would be seemingly pointless. Then again, since anything pertaining to the space program is viewed as a very important part of our culture, so the ads could be potentially effective. I am curious to see how your work progresses!
