Which version looks better? Semi-visible lines outside of the letters or no lines outside of the letters?
The letters are made up of the names all 639 hosts and cast members, with lines connecting everyone to the years they were on the show over it's 37 years on the air.
this looks really cool. especially cuz it has something to do with snl. i like the first one better, not exactly why. it just looks cool to me and draws my eye more.
I enjoy the lines between the letters because they points towards the relationship between the separate parts more directly...also, I think the lines create more visual complexity and interest...
I like that the one with the lines in the negative space, mainly because they are there but not in full strength so it does not draw away from the bigger picture.
I like the second one where there are no likes outside the letters. It makes it seem more clean cut. I like the concept a lot though.

I like the lines visible outside the letter. It's enough that it just gives the image that extra oomf to enhance what's in the foreground.
